Pipelines

The RPR Induction Technology works by fast transfer of energy to the steel substrate, securing controlled heating of the surface and fast removal of most types of coatings, including the toughest linings found on pipelines worldwide.

The RPR Induction System has proven highly effective on pipes and live pipeline projects around the world. It efficiently and safely removes coatings such as Coal Tar, Ebonite, 3LPE/3LPP, rubber and other tough linings with thickness up to 30 mm.

Unlike traditional methods, coatings removal with RPR Technologies produces no additional grit or water waste, yielding significant savings in logistic handling, particularly in remote areas. Coatings are released in strips or pieces that are easy to collect into waste bags, with no risk of contamination to air, ground or water.

The system operates with a working distance of up to 100m from the main unit, allowing for flexible and efficient operation across large pipeline sections. RPR has developed a patented solution that eliminates the risk of overheating the steel surface, a critical prerequisite that has enabled approval for use on live oil and gas pipelines.

Why Use RPR Technologies

HIGHER REMOVAL RATES

Engineered with various induction heads for challenging geometry steel sections, rivets encountered on many Steel bridge structures

MINIMISED WASTE DISPOSAL

No grit or water media added, eliminating the need for transport and disposal.

ENVIRONMENT

75% less energy consumption with zero grit or water deposits left behind.

OPERATOR FRIENDLY

Safe, quiet, and low-dust operation with minimal protective gear required.

SIMULTANEOUS OPERATIONS (SIMOPS)

Low-noise, low-dust process lets other trades work safely in parallel, reducing asset outage time.

Resulting from a project called Green Tank, co-funded by the European Commission; RPR Technologies now offers optimized solutions for coatings removal in storage tanks. Combining a patented induction technology and elements of semi-automatic platforms, the RPR Induction Coatings Removal System has proven to be twice as efficient as other methods.

Mounted to an electric trolley with vertical support, the system is ideal for removal of difficult coatings on tank floors and the lower wall section, securing a consistent result and alleviating workload for the operators. After heating the coating is scraped off in stripes that is easily collected and transported for disposal, offering considerable environmental savings in logistics and waste handling.
