RPR induction operates without pressure systems, so while PPE requirements are not eliminated, the overall level of containment can be significantly optimised due to the minimal dust and debris generated.
Hazardous coatings removal is a core specialty of RPR Technologies. Traditional methods such as grit blasting and ultra-high pressure (UHP) water jetting expose operators to considerable risks including airborne dust, water and particulates, elevated noise levels, high-pressure equipment hazards, and the physical strain associated with heavy, high-pressure equipment. RPR induction removes these risks from the process.
The RPR Technologies system, produces no airborne dust or grit, and operates with minimal noise. Coatings are cleanly released and can be collected directly into waste bags, eliminating loose contamination in the surrounding work area.
Because no hazardous media is introduced into the environment during this phase, adjacent personnel can safely continue maintenance, inspection, or operational activities nearby, RPR’s patented overheating prevention technology ensures the steel substrate remains undamaged throughout the removal process.
With case by case approval process, RPR Technologies can be employed on live oil and gas pipelines. With a proven track record across some of the world’s most safety-critical industries including naval, offshore, and petrochemical sectors, RPR Technologies induction sets a high standard for safe, controlled coating removal.

HIGHER STRIPPING RATES
Engineered with various induction heads for challenging geometry steel sections, rivets encountered on many Steel bridge structures
MINIMISED WASTE DISPOSAL
No grit or water media added, eliminating the need for transport and disposal.
ENVIRONMENT
75% less energy consumption with zero grit or water deposits left behind.
REDUCES HAZARDOUS WASTE
Safe, quiet, and low-dust operation with minimal protective gear required.
OPERATOR FRIENDLY
Low-noise, low-dust process lets other trades work safely in parallel, reducing asset outage time.
Resulting from a project called Green Tank, co-funded by the European Commission; RPR Technologies now offers optimized solutions for coatings removal in storage tanks. Combining a patented induction technology and elements of semi-automatic platforms, the RPR Induction Coatings Removal System has proven to be twice as efficient as other methods.
Mounted to an electric trolley with vertical support, the system is ideal for removal of difficult coatings on tank floors and the lower wall section, securing a consistent result and alleviating workload for the operators. After heating the coating is scraped off in stripes that is easily collected and transported for disposal, offering considerable environmental savings in logistics and waste handling.
